Childhood Vaccines in Switzerland

The Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) recommends babies and children receive vaccinations. This is because they offer protection from severe and infectious diseases. Furthermore, vaccinations help to stop illnesses from spreading further.

Subsequently, the FOPH recommends that babies and children receive the vaccines for the following infections:
  • Diptheria
  • Tetanus
  • Whooping cough
  • Meningitis caused by Haemophilus
  • Polio
  • Measles
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Pneumococcal infections

Besides these, there are other different vaccines to consider.

They aim to protect children from the following:

  • Chickenpox
  • Hepatitis A and B
  • Tick-borne Encephalitis
  • HPV or Human Papillomavirus
  • Meningitis A, C, W and Y
  • Tuberculosis (in a high-risk group).

It would be best to discuss which vaccines your child needs with their paediatrician.Childhood Vaccines in Switzerland
