The BCT hosted a Children’s Flea Market a few weeks ago. Nadya Zadoronzy, The BCT Special Events Programmes Co-ordinator, shares the happenings with us.

Children’s Flea Market – Past BCT Event

After a long break, the BCT decided to bring back its children’s flea market. The event took place on Saturday, 25th of June, in the cosy schoolyard of ELA Basel. Those who booked tables could bring and sell secondhand items their children no longer needed at the venue.
By 9:30 am, one could see a dozen long tables full of fabulous toys, board games, puzzles, books and children’s clothes.
The market was fun for the sellers and buyers; parents and children were eager to give their once beloved items a second life. And in the end, the sellers pocketed a modest profit, bringing home smaller bags than the ones they came.
Overall, the BCT event hosted more than thirty visiting families.
The attendees not only bought and sold items but also mingled with their BCT friends. They sipped coffee and tea and chatted under the shade of the big tree in the middle of the schoolyard.
The flea market also attracted several passersby who stopped for a peek and left with the items they discovered on the long tables.

The school kindly let us use the facility, provided the guests with coffee and tea, and helped us set up the event on the day.
We are also grateful to all those who made the event successful. The people who purchased the tickets to sell and those who came by to shop. And all the volunteers and members who lend their support.
Hopefully, this event will once again become a regular fixture in the BCT’s social calendar with more participants in the future.
