From the Editor
I hope you experienced a wonderful summer.
Gaining the freedom to move around again during the last few months was a blessing. Indeed, I repeatedly reminded myself of this gift during school holidays, especially when we encountered travel chaos and heat waves. But that was then; now, we are happily nestled at home, like most families in Switzerland.
This month, the BCT Blog focuses on “Back to School”.
This time of the year represents the end of our family’s more easygoing days. While I enjoy the longer, warmer unstructured days of June and July, I also relish the return of our non-holiday schedules. For instance, classes and after-school activities are accompanied by rigid meal times in our household. And earlier, more sensible bedtimes. Our daily rhythm lets us interact more with our local community.
Do you feel the same way?
Our blog has a lot to share this month.
Thank you to our valued BCT supporters and members who agreed to share their notes and thoughts. And to our new BCT volunteer, Elizabeth Adams, who hit the ground running when she joined us, providing priceless help to the Blog Team.
Please come back here regularly.
We have articles on school readiness and meal planning for you to read. And, conversely a piece about ditching schedules. We will also feature helpful recommendations relating to books and places.
Until then, I wish you all the best.
